Just had Shire Driveways and Landscapes install a driveway and patio in Caramel Latte resin bound gravel. We are very pleased with the result it really has lifted the kerb appeal of the property. The old concrete slab and stones were looking tired and shabby now it looks absolutely amazing. Simon and his team all worked very hard to achieve this final result and many thanks to them all. Five-star service from Simon and the Shire team began with my first phone call, when he actually answered. Other landscaping companies had stolidly ignored my phone and contact form messages. How rude!

Simon came round the same day, and skilfully designed a porcelain-paved garden, easily chasing away all thoughts of us replacing our split-level wooden decking with composite.

His polite and friendly, professional and skilled team have left us with a stylish outdoor living space to be proud of, and I can’t wait to spend the summer enjoying it and showing it off.

I wanted to share how genuinely impressed I am with the team who recently completed my new block-paved driveway and front area. Living on my own, having work done on your home can sometimes feel a little daunting, but from the very beginning they made the entire experience easy, comfortable, and completely stress-free.

What they achieved in just three days was honestly incredible. I went to work each day and came home to see the progress they had made, and the transformation of the front of my house is amazing. What was once an ordinary space is now a beautifully finished driveway that makes the whole property look smart, welcoming, and something I feel really proud of every time I arrive home.

The team were polite, respectful, and incredibly hardworking. They arrived early each morning, worked tirelessly throughout the day, and kept everything tidy and organised. It was clear they take real pride in their work, and the attention to detail in the block paving is outstanding. Every line is perfectly laid and the finish is absolutely first class.

These are genuine nice guys, the work was efficient, fast, & as you can see from the photo’s the final product looks amazing. They go above & beyond to exceed customer expectations. They are probably not the cheapest but the quality speaks for itself.

I’m a fussy customer with massive attention to detail so was watching closely whilst the guys were working and discussing details throughout, they rebuilt our front wall and the bricklayer finished it really quickly and to a really high standard. They then laid a block edging on the driveway and finished the driveway with tarmac. The finish looks great and is exactly what I was after. They turned it around really quickly and worked long days to get the job done. The pictures speak for themselves I think. Thanks guys.

Barwell is a civil parish and large village in Leicestershire, England, with a population of 8,750 residents, Increasing to 9,022 at the 2011 census, the name literally translates as “Stream of the Boar” and is said to originate from a boar that used to drink from the well near a brook in Barwell. It was originally known as Borewell, but later became “Barwell”, the name in use today. The brook is now called the River Tweed, and is a tributary of the River Trent.

The village has two churches; Barwell Methodist Church in Chapel Street, and St Mary’s Church, Barwell in Church Lane. St. Mary’s was built in 1220. A board inside the church lists all of the rectors up to the present day, beginning with William in 1209.

The village has successful football clubs Barwell FC and AFC Barwell as well cricket teams and a large indoor bowling complex.

The Queens Head is the oldest public house, and second oldest building in the village. In 1902 the pub was owned by one Sarah Ann Powers. It was later owned by the Haines family. In recent years, the old pub roof has naturally deformed so that it is no longer straight. In the 1980s the front of the building was completely restored and returned to its original style after years of Victorian style black and white.

Barwell
