Shire Driveways was tasked with revamping a tired and outdated patio by installing a sleek, modern Dolomite Moon porcelain patio with 900×450 slabs.

To complete the transformation, we incorporated elegant bullnose-edged steps, creating a stylish and functional outdoor space.

Challenges & Requirements

  • The existing patio was worn and uneven, requiring a complete replacement.
  • The client wanted a modern, sophisticated finish with a seamless transition from the patio to the steps.
  • Durability and easy maintenance were key factors in choosing Dolomite Moon porcelain.

The Installation Process

  • Removal & Ground Preparation: The old patio was removed, and the ground was leveled before installing a stable sub-base to prevent shifting over time.
  • Laying the Dolomite Moon Porcelain Slabs:
    • 900×450 slabs were carefully positioned to create a sleek, seamless design.
    • Precision spacing and jet black grout were used to enhance the clean, modern look.
  • Step Installation with Bullnose Edging:
    • Steps were built to provide a smooth and elegant transition.
    • Bullnose edges were added for a soft, rounded finish, making them both stylish and safe.
  • Final Touches & Sealing: The patio was cleaned and sealed to enhance its longevity and resistance to stains and weather damage.

The Result

The newly installed Dolomite Moon porcelain patio instantly modernised the garden, creating a chic and welcoming outdoor space. The sleek grey tones of the porcelain slabs paired beautifully with the bullnose steps, giving the area a polished, high-end finish. Fabulous job doing my new block paving driveway which had a huge Slope on it and Simon said he’d be able to make the slope very invisible in which he actually managed to do if you ever need a company to do your driveway or patio this company is them enough thanks to there 5 star team

We recently had the the pleasure of meeting Simon, Craig & Chris when they did our driveway. What a fantastic job they have completed. These are genuine nice guys, the work was efficient, fast, & as you can see from the photo’s the final product looks amazing. They go above & beyond to exceed customer expectations. They are probably not the cheapest but the quality speaks for itself.

I’m a fussy customer with massive attention to detail so was watching closely whilst the guys were working and discussing details throughout, they rebuilt our front wall and the bricklayer finished it really quickly and to a really high standard. They then laid a block edging on the driveway and finished the driveway with tarmac. The finish looks great and is exactly what I was after. They turned it around really quickly and worked long days to get the job done. The pictures speak for themselves I think. Thanks guys.

Shire Driveways and Landscapes have done both my front drive and back garden. They have done a great job, really pleased with the work and the finished look. They block paved the front, and put patio slabs at the back. Well done! Would recommend :)
